This Unit handles all trade promotion activities, such as Trade Fairs, Local and International, Export Promotion and Trade Missions.
Responsible for the registration of all business premises both at the State all the Local Government Areas of the State in according to Internal Revenue Law.
Supervising all weights and measures, both solid and liquid measures, in the State to ensure that the national standards are maintained, and farmers have value for their products.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry in Benue State was formally established by the Benue State Executive Council under the leadership of Governor Dr. Samuel Ortom on 23rd December 2020. It was carved out from the previously existing Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment to create a more focused and specialized agency dedicated to trade, commercial growth, industrial development, and investment promotion within the State.
The Ministry’s creation reflects the State Government’s commitment to strengthening economic development, improving ease of doing business, and expanding opportunities for local businesses, investors, and commercial activities.
